Huangshi Saite Friction Materials Co., Ltd. was established in 1996 and is located in Huangshi, the ancient capital of China’s mining and metallurgical industries. The company originated as Laurentz Lucas Huangshi Friction Materials Co., Ltd., a joint venture founded by Denmark’s Laurentz Corporation, Britain’s Lucas Industries, and Huangshi Saifu Friction Materials Co., Ltd. It specializes in the research, development, production, and sales of friction materials and related products, offering more than 1,000 different specifications. Within the friction materials sector, it has built a relatively complete vertically integrated industrial chain, making it one of China’s largest, most technologically advanced, and most R&D‑capable enterprises in this field. The company is also an executive director unit of the China Friction and Sealing Materials Association and a key contributor to the formulation of the national standard GB 5763-2008. Saite is among the first two Chinese companies to produce asbestos‑free, environmentally friendly brake pads for commercial vehicles (the other being Taimington). The company occupies a total area of 50,000 square meters, with 30,000 square meters dedicated to standard factory buildings and modern office spaces. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, it has an annual production capacity of over 10 million units, including drum brake pads, disc brake pads, shoe‑type brake pads, and complete brake assemblies for automobiles, as well as more than 2 million units of mechanical brake friction plates, electromechanical friction plates, and wind‑turbine yaw‑brake friction plates.
