Company History
1926
In 1926, the Danish company Lauritz, one of the holding companies of Yellowstone Sait Friction Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Sait Company), began manufacturing friction materials. It is among the earliest companies worldwide to receive original equipment approval for asbestos-free disc brake pads for passenger cars and drum brake linings for commercial vehicles, and it serves as a key supplier to European automobile manufacturers and brake system producers.
1966
In 1966, the parent company of Sait, Huangshi Saifu Friction Materials Co., Ltd., was established. It is the largest national enterprise specializing in powder metallurgy friction materials, primarily manufacturing a wide range of friction materials—including copper-based, iron-based, paper-based, and carbon-based types—designed to meet the needs of construction machinery, lifting equipment, agricultural machinery, automobiles, locomotives, ships, machine tools, and more.
1996
In 1996, the predecessor of Sait Company was established as Laurentz Lucas Huangshi Friction Materials Co., Ltd., a joint venture jointly invested in by Denmark’s Laurentz Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Britain’s Lucas Industries, and Huangshi Saifu Friction Materials Co., Ltd., with the foreign partners holding a controlling stake. At the same time, this joint venture introduced production technology from Europe, resulting in products that are environmentally friendly, low-density, highly porous, exhibit stable friction performance, and feature low wear. They also cause minimal abrasion to brake discs and drums, deliver smooth, noise-free braking, and offer an extended service life.
1999
In 1999, Sait Company obtained the ISO 9001 quality management system certification issued by BVQI.
2001
In 2001, Sait Company was recognized as an executive director unit of the China Friction and Sealing Materials Association.
2004
In 2004, multiple product lines of Sait Company obtained ISO/TS 16949 certification from TÜV‑PSB in Singapore.
